Congratulations to Our New Deacons!

This weekend, I am very excited to celebrate the ordination of two new permanent deacons in our faith community: Dcn. Mike Reeseman and Dcn. Lance Tappa. Longtime-parishioners of St. Mary, Dcns. Reeseman and Tappa and their families have long been active members of the church, and we are blessed that they will be serving both St. Mary and St. Anthony Parishes as part of their covenant. If you have not yet had the opportunity to meet Dcns. Reeseman and Tappa, you will soon. In the meantime, you can get to know them a little better by reading their greetings to you, provided below.

Dcn. Lance Tappa

Hello fellow parishioners of St. Mary ’s and St. Anthony ’s! I very much look forward to fostering new and existing relationships and ministering to you and your families in my new role as deacon. My first vocation is as husband and father. I have been married to my beautiful wife, Angie, for 24 years. We have three boys – Logan (17), Carson (15), and Ben (12). Suffice it to say that we are quite busy! The two older boys attend Marquette High School and our youngest is at St. Mary ’s, where we have been members since 2010.

I currently work at a company called FIS Global where I do partnership business development. I was born and raised in the Green Bay area (Oneida) and Ang is from Saukville originally. I recently found out that the Latin origin of the name Lance is “one who serves.” And that is exactly what called me to this ministry and what I enjoy doing the most. I am here to serve YOU. You’ll find that I’m quite easy to talk with and I would be more than happy to meet with you or your family members anytime. I may not have every answer to what you’re seeking, but I sure will listen to what is on your heart and help where I can. Please continue to pray for my family and I and I will do the same for you. Please also introduce yourself the next time you see me!

Greetings to everyone at St. Anthony and St. Mary parishes! I am a little nervous, but much more excited as I enter this new vocation. After 21 years since I first inquired into the diaconate program, it has finally come to fruition. (Guys - don’t wait that long like I did for 16 years if you sense a calling!)

My wife Jodi and I have been members at St. Mary ’s since moving to Menomonee Falls 30 years ago. We will celebrate our 39th wedding anniversary this year! We have two sons and one grand-dog. I do haveother family members who belong to St. Anthony ’s. I recently retired from working in the HVAC business my entire career. As a deacon, I will now be able to serve the church in new ways that I hope w ill bring others closer to God as we all move along our paths to seek and to understand the greatness of our God. I look forward to serving you, and working together with you in our community at St. Anthony’s and St. Mary’s, as well as beyond our church parking lots in the greater community as we serve God and one another. Blessings to everyone!
